Exercises still exist, but they serve the song—not the other way around.

When it supports the student’s goals. We begin with ear skills, rhythm, and practical theory. We may then introduce standard notation, lead sheets, chord charts, or other visual tools based on the student’s preferred learning style and the music they want to pursue. Traditional notation is not required for every student.
